Snow fell for many hours and then came the cleanup…as much for the dogs as ourselves. I shoveled a path so the dogs could exit the house and go out to the woods in our backyard. I will stomp it down with snowshoes later today when I take Cabot out for a strenuous hike in virgin snow.
I was so happy to get some more snow.
I did not even mind shoveling.
I dug this path to a ramp that goes down to the dogs’ pen.
This is out front.
The snow-blower had to get through so much snow that it lost a pin. Sam is fixing it here. He looks nice and dry but the snow was swirling around him as he worked on the driveway. WET and WIND BLOWN.
We need to shovel to open the dog door.
Cabot can’t get out to the yard until I shovel or he plows through the drifts on the deck and steps. He decided to take it easy and wait.
Note the yard stick measuring 28 inches of snow.
It is nice to see photos of the reality of a snowstorm for homeowners with dogs. Keep on smiling. Enjoy the snow.
