Just read the book, Wild, about the Pacific Coast Trail. I can relate to painful feet and a huge pack. When I hiked the AT for 7 days by the end of day one all 10 of my toes were bandaged in medical tape. My boots were broken in at home but once we started a really long downhill and squatted to filter water for everyone on an awkward slope.. they were blistered. Turns out I had ordered a half size smaller in my long time favorite hiking boots and did not realize it til the AT downhill. Break in those boots…
