What Was I Thinking?

One of those. I didn't know I took this moments.

One of those I didn’t know I took this moments.

I take hundreds of photos with my phone as I hike and travel. I erase many of them and in the process I often wonder why on earth I took a photo or what I was trying to illustrate in it.

The end of a pole is a little more interesting. But certainly I could have done better.

The end of a pole is a little more interesting than other parts. But certainly I could have done better.

Part of a pole that has no meaning and no photographic value. Why did I take it?

I know what this means but you don't.

I know what this means but you don’t.

This is one of my trampled photo stops. I was kneeling and even lying down to take photos of my dogs. I got cold and wet. Can you tell? And guess what? None of the photos are on the blog yet. Nine out of ten photos I take are not worth showing anyone. In the “old days” no one could afford to snap lots of shots just to get one good one (maybe). Film and developing cost too much. The good thing was no one had to sift through thousands of photos just to find a certain one.

Bear Track, oh my...

Bear Track, oh my…

I was convinced that I was following a bear’s tracks on a hike in Brookline, NH last week. But by the end of the hike I had to admit it was just one of my dog’s prints. There is still hope. Bears are not “full hibernators” in New England from what I have read. They come out and wander at times.

I love to look at outhouses.

Outhouses for the floating houses.

But I do not love to use them. I guess they are better than nothing though.
